The Village Closet, a dream of two sisters, Iris Stern and Janice Colbert, opened in November 1989 in Roaring Spring, PA.  In 1991, the business relocated to it’s still current location, 3922 Cove Mountain Road, Martinsburg, PA.  Sadly, Iris passed just a couple of years after the store relocated and Janice and her family have maintained ownership since then.  November, 2024 marked our 35th year in business!! 

What began as a small consignment shop has grown over the years to what is now a much larger “department-style” store.  Shopping at The Village Closet & Country Store is like shopping at multiple stores in one location.  There is so much to see here!  In addition to our consignment clothing shop, we also offer a large gift and home decor store, a nice-sized toy department, a new clothing boutique, along with fashion jewelry, candles, handbags, Amish-made rustic furniture, and much more!  We like to think there is something for almost everyone at The Village Closet & Country Store.  If you are looking for a gift or something just for yourself, we hope to have the perfect item!

Our home decor department has lots of items that are great for seasonal & holiday decorating, as well as “everyday” decor to suit a variety of tastes.  Our “style” leans to a more farmhouse look, but we also have a bit of country and primitive decor as well as things that are more traditional style.  We carry curtains, tabletop textiles, lamps, braided rugs, lanterns, wall art, rustic pine furniture, and much, much more!!  

Our gift department is always stocked full of great items for all ages with gift ideas for newborn babies up through grandmas and everyone in between!!  Our toy department also offers a lot of good choices for a variety of ages as well.

Our new clothing boutique is always stocked full of new boutique brands in a variety of styles and sizes from size small through 3XL.  We receive new shipments weekly and always try to offer a nice selection at GREAT PRICES!!  We carry JUDY BLUE and KanCan jeans at some of the BEST PRICES around, as well and tops, pants, and leggings from a variety of vendors.  In addition to our denim lines, you’ll find brands like: Zenana, YMI, Leggings Depot, Heimish, Sew in Love, Dear Scarlett, Haptics, 7th Ray, Reflex, and many more!!
